Everybody loves a good BBQ! The weather is warm, the kids are out of school and the time is right for grilling outside.
Having friends over for a backyard party doesn’t have to be complicated! I’ve even designed a special party planning checklist to make your life easier! My planner has a party organization countdown, a place for a guest list, menu and special notes you don’t want to forget.
Get organized and you’ll be able to relax and enjoy your party too!
Planning ahead can help you have a great time at your own party! I always try to have a couple of make ahead dishes. Food that I can prepare ahead of time makes party day a lot less stressful.
For my summer bbq party, I’ll make the chicken and slaw for the sliders a day ahead, and get the dessert and the sangria prepped the day before.
When my friends ask what they can do to help, I ask them to bring a simple appetizer to share while we get the party started talking about our summer plans and getting the grill going.

Summer BBQ Party Decorations
The food is really the star of the show for any summer BBQ party, but it’s still fun to get into the holiday spirit with some patriotic decorating.
While my yard is landscaped with plenty of red and blue salvias for hummingbirds and butterflies, I still spend some time putting together some pretty party decorations.
